Bling Party Vases

DIY Bling Party Vases

Making your own bling party vases can add that spectacular touch to a wedding, anniversary, party or event.  Additionally, dazzling vases are perfect for centerpieces, sweetheart tables, entrance tables and serving displays.  Bling party vases are easy to make and affordable while presenting such a dramatic impact.  These are also great for decorating at home, especially in a bedroom or bathroom.

You can choose what ever colors you need when making these bling party vases.  So the possibilities are endless for what you put inside them, or put nothing at all.  Also, I like to put fake ice crystals with a LED tea light, floating candles with and LED waterproof tea light, flowers or use as bases for platters and plates.

Sometimes you can even find the cylinder vases at your local dollar store or craft store.  These look best in clusters of 3 to 5.  Surround with scattering fake ice crystals or crystal gems so light reflects off the facets.  Consider making these for a white, Frozen or winter wonderland themed party.  The possibilities are endless!

Taped vases

  • Paint below the taped area with Mod Podge, make sure you cover all the area you want to glitter with a  generous layer of Mod Podge.

  • Shake on the glitter over the Mod Podge over a protected surface.

Shake on the glitter

  • Remove the tape while the glue is still wet and then let it dry.

  • Allow to dry for 3-4 hours.  I let mine dry overnight.

  • Next dry fit on the ribbon and cut.  I cut ribbon in 11 inch strips or long enough to wrap around the vase.

Ribbon cut

  • Apply a line of hot glue on the back of the ribbon and affix to vase covering the top of the glitter.  Then complete the application with another line of hot glue and press gently with your finger.

  • Next, apply a decorative crystal flat backed gem on the front of the vase with hot glue.  You are done with your bling party vases unless you want to add some height to the vase.

  • To add a base, I used candlestick holders.  Then I decided to decorate the candlestick holders before I glued them to the vases.

  • Paint on the Mod Podge on the edges and shake on the glitter and allow to dry for 3-4 hours.

  • I also added a silver gem strip at the top of the candlestick.  These are sold in the craft gems section of your craft supply store or here is a link.  I like these because they are self sticking on the back and can be applied to any craft you are making.

  • Then glue the candlestick onto the vase by hot gluing around the mouth of the candlestick.  Once that is done, place the vase on top of the candlestick.  Make sure it is centered and press down to secure.  Allow to dry for about an hour before using your new bling party vases!
