Bridgerton Regency Era Themed Book Ornaments
If you love the Regency Era, especially the Bridgerton or Jane Austen settings, try making these Bridgerton themed novel book ornaments. They are a charming addition to the Bridgerton themed Christmas tree or Christmas wreath. You could also make these without the ribbon for a party, wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, etc. Â I think these would look great in or around a centerpiece as well.
These book ornaments are made from large matches boxes, regular white paper, and book cover print outs on regular white card stock. Â In addition, I added clay embellishments to some of the novels for added flare. Â I wanted to create a level of opulence that is fitting to the period.
The supplies are simple to make Bridgerton Book Ornaments.  Therefore, this is a craft that someone new to crafting can do. Most of the supplies you have at home. You can find the book cover images on-line or you can make to your own imagination.  I also have templates available in my shop as shown in the examples. Directions For Bridgerton Book Ornaments
- Find Bridgerton Book covers by doing an on-line book cover search and save the images to your computer or make your own with vintage style scrapbook paper, paint, glitter, and clay embellishments. Â I understand if you don’t want to be bothered doing any of that. Â You also can just purchase my download bundle of templates (18 designs included) for these Bridgerton Book Ornaments here: Â https://majorgates.com/product/bridgerton-themed-christmas-ornament-editable-templates-download-18-designs-incl/
- Then remove the plastic around the matches box and cut down the long side of the matches box on the strike match side. Cut along the lines to remove the middle.
- Print out the book covers on the white regular card stock. Â Also, you may have to increase or decrease the image to make sure it will fit around the matches box. Â So to do this, you can open the image in Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint or any photo imaging application. Then, print to size 5″ x 7″. Â My templates are already to size, so only minimal trimming is needed to fit on the boxes.
Next, cut out the book cover and do a dry fit on your match box.
- Then line up image end to the corner of the flattened match box.
- Then apply a generous supply of glue stick all over the match box shiny or printed size. Â Next, add on the book cover.
- There will be a little surplus paper that you will need to trim off with scissors.
- Now, allow the glue to dry about 5 minutes and then fold at the creases of the match box. Â So, if you don’t allow the glue to dry a few minutes, the image will slide while folding.
- Then attach the ribbon or twine in a loop to hang the ornament with hot glue. Â So, the length should be about 4-5 inches before you make the loop. Â Skip this step if you are making the books for another occasion.
- Now, cut out your sheets of paper. Â Start by creating a template by measuring 12 cm x 11 1/2 cm and cut out the sheets. Â So you will need 30-35 sheets per book.
- Fold sheets in half and stack until you have 30-35. Â So if there are too many sheets, they will fall out of the book.
- Gather the group of sheets and glue inside the book cover. Â So to do this, apply a generous amount of glue along the length of the match box, then as a group of sheets, place on the glue.
- Then repeat for all the books.
- Now, you can also add embellishments and glitter to the book ornaments. Â So some of the templates I created, I added clay embellishments, buttons and glitter.
- So if you ordered my templates and you want to add or customize your book covers. Â The editable ones, you can add embellishments or wording. Â I include 18 templates in the download. Instructions For Adding Clay Embellishments To Bridgerton Themed Books
- Start by gathering your molds. Â I used the same type of molds that cake decorators use.
- Then press in the light weight air dry clay into the molds and allow to dry for at least 4 hours. Â So, I usually leave them in the molds overnight or fill the molds first thing in the morning. Â They are ready when I use them. Â Sometimes I let them dry 8-10 hours and they still remove easily from the molds.
- Now, paint the clay embellishment(s) with metallic gold acrylic paint in the color of your choice. Â I used the colors – Pure Gold and Glorious Gold. Â Allow the painted clay embellishments to dry for at least an hour.
- Next, do a dry fit on the book ornaments. Â Then apply the backside with Tacky Glue – Quick Dry and press on the book ornament.
- Now, brush in the places that you want to apply glitter and shake on the glitter. Â This step is optional, but I am making Christmas ornaments and love the glitter sparkle captured by the lights. Â I used extra fine glitter. Â My favorite glitter is Silver Champagne Holographic.
- You are done! Â Hang on the tree or give as a gift to a Bridgerton fan and enjoy!
