Harry Potter Dragon Eggs
Make your own Harry Potter dragon eggs. These dragon eggs are very easy to make. You can find paper Mache large eggs in early January up until Easter at your local craft store or you can purchase them on-line. I made these dragon eggs for a dragon egg race for a birthday party. You can repurpose the eggs for many other uses or place them in a large bowl as a décor.
To make these fantastic eggs, you will need a few supplies to create the design pattern and paint. You can paint these eggs in one solid color or various color combinations to make them more magical. You want them to look like they came from different species of dragons.

We had a blast in our Tri-Wizard tournament. The eggs were used in a Hogwarts House relay race, similar to a egg race.

Directions For Harry Potter Dragon Eggs
- Heat up your glue gun. Then squeeze the hot glue around your dragon egg in the pattern of your choice. I did a scales pattern, dots, golden, swirls and random lines.
- Once the hot glue dries, remove any hot glue strings. Next paint the base coat of your egg.
- Allow the dragon eggs to dry for at least 2 hours before adding another color.
- Add another color if you wish for more depth and contrast with the paint brush or sponge brush it on. I used a sponge brush.
- Then let it dry on the paper cup for another 2 hours. You can spray paint it with clear spray paint to protect the finish. They are ready for use!
