Rio Bella Resort
The Rio Bella Resort is a hidden treasure in the southwestern portion of the Hill Country of Texas. There are so many wonderful things about this place, that I could not take enough pictures. The cabins are along the Frio River and the access is private.

We have been going to the Rio Bella Resort for a few years now, and we always love our stay. This place is in high demand and booking can be challenging for peak times. The calendar opens in October for the following year, if you are trying to book during peak times. So if you are fortunate to have the flexibility to book during non-peak season, give this wonderful place a try. Furthermore, this is a perfect place for families that is great for all ages.
The cabins at the Rio Bella Resort are lovely and perfect for comfortable glamping and family trips. All the cabins are spacious, very clean, updated and have air conditioning. One of the best things is the private balcony and full kitchen to use. The property is very well kept, with plenty of things to do. So, you can go kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, floating, fishing, play volleyball, corn hole, tether ball, Connect Four, and so much more.
Another great thing is that everyone that is permitted on the property wears a wrist band at all times. Once you get your wrist band at check-in, you must return it upon check-out. This prohibits the bands from getting off the property to those that should not be there. The resort is truly private and this is cherished by the guests.

Some Things To Know
All the river banks along the 200 miles of the Frio River are private property. So the river is available for everyone to swim/float up and down as far as you like. In addition, the only public entrances or exits are the public road crossings. So never get out on the banks of the Frio except in cases of emergency.
The property has a private damn which is most enjoyable by all. So even when the river is low in some parts due to lack of rain or drought, the resort typically still has water. All the cabins are pet free and smoke free. Quiet time is from 10pm-8am, so you are sure to have a peaceful sleep, to really enjoy your days.
This is a family oriented resort, so rowdy and loud groups are not permitted. The families are very respectful to each other and want everyone to enjoy their stay. In addition, there are things to do around the resort such as hiking at Garner State Park, but we prefer to just stay at the resort. I’m so relaxed when I am there. You can eat out, or bring your own food to cook at the cabin. The front office has the critical things if you forget them, and there are small local stores nearby.
Check out the Rio Bella Resort website here: https://www.riobella.com/ and view the cabins virtually. Each cabin is unique and have various occupancy and different decor. They actually look just like the pictures. Furthermore, the Rio Bella Resort has done a wonderful job with the pictures and descriptions of the resort and cabins. So if you are lucky enough to visit, you will understand all of the 5 star reviews.

Must Haves For A River Trip
Here are my must haves for enjoying the river!
- Water Shoes – great for walking on rocks in the river and you won’t slip. They also dry really fast.
- Water Proof iPhone Case
- UV Protected Water Shirts
- River Floats
- Fishing Hat – great for blocking the sun and being on the river for hours
- Non-spill insulated cup – You want a cup with a screw on cap in case you tip over or it falls over. Then you won’t lose your drink in the river.
- Water proof speaker or water proof headphones – please be courteous to others if you are using a speaker. I like the speaker that can hook to the tube, so you can’t lose it. Most of the time, I wear my headphones to tune out the world and relax in peace.

Important Things To Remember At The Rio Bella Resort
- You must wear your Rio Bella Resort wrist band at all times. This is how the staff knows you belong on the property. The property is private which is why it is so great, so strangers are not wondering around or on the river banks.
- Don’t go on the opposite side of the river bank. That part of the river bank is owned by someone else.
- Bring extra kitchen trash bags. The resort provides two, but you go through these pretty fast. They also can be used for your dirty laundry.
- You need to bring your own soap, toiletries, shampoo, extra paper towels, extra toilet paper, trash bags (kitchen and small trash bin), foil, zip lock bags, beach/pool towels, extra dish towels, spray cleaner for spot cleaning, charcoal, lighter fluid, etc.
- You also need to plan your meals, and bring your own food and spices. There are restaurants that are close by, and a wonderful binder is located in the kitchen of places to go.
- Don’t forget to clean out the BBQ pit and/or fireplace if you use it.
- All dishes need to be washed and put away before leaving.
- Only two cars are permitted per cabin except for the main house rental.
- You must take out all your trash to the big bin by the check-in office before you leave.
- Don’t flush anything down the toilets other than toilet paper (this includes wipes), so you don’t mess up the septic system.
- Take care of the property. It is such a nice place. Leave it as you found it, and book your next visit.
I hope you get to experience this lovely place, and please visit the website for more details. https://www.riobella.com/
