Basketball Christmas Wreath
I made a Basketball Christmas Wreath for my son this year since he is a basketball fan. A sport wreath is something unusual but a sport fan will love it. Those mini trees are great for having theme trees in other rooms. It also is affordable to change out the theme every few years.
As a nice accompaniment to a themed tree, a coordinating wreath is always nice. Mini trees work great in a kids room or playrooms, so make a themed wreath to go with the tree.
I like making Christmas wreaths with artificial wreaths because you can manipulate the branches. You also can decorate as early as you want. Consider adding lights for an added touch.
This basketball wreath took me less than an hour to assemble and it was fun!

Supplies
- 30 inch Artificial Christmas wreath (or what ever size fits your space) – try your local craft store as well since they are often on sale during the holiday season.
- Shatterproof basketball Christmas ornaments
- Christmas sprays and gold ornaments
- 2.5-3 inch wide wired ribbon
- Scissors
- Craft Pliers (optional)
- Dual temperature mini glue gun and mini glue sticks
- Florist wire and/or Chenille Stems
Directions For Basketball Christmas Wreath
- Prep your area with a craft mat, drop cloth, old scatter rug or old sheet. Plug in your glue gun on a protective surface as well. So I like to use old magazines because they are thick enough that the hot glue does not drip through.
- Start with fluffing your wreath by separating and spreading out the branches.
- Get out all the ornaments and sprays and cut off all the tags. Then cut any sprays with the craft cutters.
- Then dry fit your ornaments and decorations on the wreath.
- Next, intertwine your ribbon and secure with the wreath branches, florist wire or chenille stems.
- Once you are happy with the placement of everything, secure each decoration onto the wreath with hot glue, florist wire and/or chenille stems.
- Start with the largest decorations first and then attach the smaller decorations. So if you accidently glue an ornament in the wrong place, let it dry a little and then cut it off.
- It is ready! Let it dry for about 10 minutes and hang it up.
