Harry Potter Badges
Harry Potter badges are super easy to make and are great for a party or event. These cute badges are great for guests to claim their Hogwarts house or if you have a tri-wizard tournament. So I made these for a tri-wizard tournament for my kids 11th birthday. They worked out great for all the kids.
Use a sorting hat to determine the house of the guests. So I made a paper mache sorting hat, and used a miniature talking hat, that I pressed by the kids ear to sort them into their houses. The kids really thought the hat was talking.

Some kids do not have costumes or Harry Potter shirts. So this was a great way for all the kids and some adults to feel included. I decided to have a tri-wizard tournament and these Harry Potter Badges were used to sort the kids into their houses.

Directions For Harry Potter Badges
- Do a internet search for Harry Potter House Crests that you like, for all the houses and save them to your computer. I like the ones below. So try to find ones that are easy to hand cut.
NOTE: Any images found on the internet are for personal use only, and are not intended for re-sale. If you plan to sell these, you must get permission of the image owner, and they often charge a fee. All images found on Major Gates are for personal use only.
- Then print to a size less than 3 inches. I printed several to a page, so about 10-12 per page.
- Hand cut out each of the images. So make sure you have a few extras for the adults too, and if someone messes theirs up. They will also like taking these Harry Potter Badges home.
- Next, with the craft punch, cut out the scalloped backgrounds on the glitter card stock. Then glue on the image to the black scallop.
- Then on the back of the badges, hot glue on the name tag pin and hold for a few seconds.
- The Harry Potter Badges are ready to go!
