Supplies

Kraft paper bags – I used 13″ x 10″ size but the common size is 10.5″ x 8″
12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper or regular music paper
12 x 12 inch black or white glitter card stock or musical cut outs
Glue sticks
Dual-temperature mini glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
Scoring board
Craft mat or protected surface
Silhouette Cameo or Cricut or other craft cutting machine (optional)
Craft punches – 3 inch scallop, 2.5 inch scallop and 2 inch circle (optional)

Directions For Music Themed Favor Bags

Start on a work surface such as a craft mat to make music themed favor bags. So that your table or surface does not get messed up with glue.

Cut the scrapbook paper to 9 1/2 inches x 12 inches for an 13 inch x 10 inch Kraft bag. So if you are making smaller Kraft bags, adjust the size on the scrapbook paper to fit a 8″ x 10.5″ bag. So the goal is to reduce the scrapbook sheet by 1- 1 1/2 inches (length and width) to fit on the Kraft bag.
Use a scoring board to make sure the paper is even. But if you don’t have a scoring board, measure with a ruler and cut.

Now, using a glue stick, apply generously on the back of the scrapbook paper and affix to the Kraft bag.

To make the large music appliques, I used glitter card stock and cut them on a Silhouette machine. So I started by searching the internet for music silhouettes, and then I saved them to my computer. Then I loaded the images and card stock and the machine cut them out.

NOTE: Images found on the internet are for personal use only. So if you plan to sell things made from images you found on the internet, you must get the permission of the image owner and they may charge you a fee to use.

So if you do not have a cutting machine, you can print the images on regular copy paper and then cut them out. Then just trace the cut out to the back of the glitter card stock and hand cut out the image.
Now, glue the cut image to the bag using a dual-temperature mini glue gun. So the setting can be on low or high, but do a dry fit first because hot glue is not forgiving to allow you to move the image.

To make a favor tag, use a craft punch or cutting machine to make scallop and circle punches ranging for 3 inches to 2 inches. Then using a glue stick, glue the back of the cut out and affix.
For the gift tags, I cut approximately 2 inch images of music instruments on my Silhouette machine, but you could also use stickers or pre-made die cuts.

Then I used a single hole punch to punch a hole in the gift tag and tied to the bag with ribbon.

This is an example on a regular size Kraft bag.

For the music themed favor bag, consider the contents for gift ideas. So consider items such as: musical pens/pencils, notebooks, cups, bottled water or juices, candy, teas, snacks and other musical gifts.

You can also add the recipients name to the bag for that added touch if you have a cutting machine or you can use pre-cut letters from the craft store.
