Snow Globe Favors
I made these snow globe favors filled with white hot chocolate mix for a winter themed party. Any guest will love these cute favors. These are great favors for a holiday celebration, winter wonderland, wedding, and Frozen themed party. So I will walk you through how to make these unforgettable snow globe party favors.
Another great idea would be to make these with larger sized mason jars and hand these out as holiday gifts. Make sure you are get the right size ornament to fit your mason jar. If you get a larger mason jar, you may need a larger fillable ornament. So I suggest getting your mason jars first, measure the tops and then get the ornaments. These are acrylic ornaments that are split in half.
You can fill these with anything you like, such as candy and nuts, etc. So the globe options are endless too. You can theme the snow globe to anything you want. Just make sure whatever you choose, will fit under the dome.

Supplies
- 4 ounce (118 ml) quarter pint mason jars
- 2.76 inch (7 cm) circle/globe plastic/acrylic fillable ornament
- 5/8 wide satin ribbon – I used Silver Pearlescent Satin Ribbon
- Triple size cotton balls
- 2 inch acrylic snowflakes or acrylic gems. Choose anything you like as long as it will fit in the ornament.
- Floral foam balls in desired color – these are also sold at your local craft store and sometimes the dollar store
- Dual temperature mini glue gun and mini glue sticks
- Scissors
- Long needle pliers
- 1.5 inch circle craft punch
- 65 lb white card stock
- White Hot Cocoa Mix
- Dehydrated Marshmallows
Directions For Snow Globe Favors
- Start by separating the mason jar lid from the jar.
- Stretch one cotton ball by gently pulling it outward.
- Squeeze hot glue on the top of the lid and then add the pulled cotton ball.
- Make sure you don’t go too far to the edges or the cotton will get caught in the lid when you add the top.
- Then place a dab of glue on a floral foam ball and glue to the cotton. So place 3-4 balls to support the snowflake.
- Now glue on an acrylic snowflake or a couple of acrylic gems.
- Next, with the pliers, gently rock back and forth until the tip breaks off of the bulb.
- Then glue around the edge of the mason jar cover and add the acrylic ornament. So you have to work quickly on this part because hot glue dries fast. But if you make a mistake, you should be able to pop off the ornament and re-glue to try again.
- It looks great so far, but now it is time to add the ribbon. Measure out the ribbon to be 9 inch long and then cut. Then add a dab of glue to one end of the ribbon and wrap around the jar and add another dab of glue to secure.
- Now add the label of what is in the jar. Start by printing the labels on regular card stock. So I printed 30 per page. 6 rows x 5 columns. I use a free program called Photoscape X to do most of my printing. They have a paid option, but so far I have not needed to upgrade. I am not affiliated with them, but here is the link. http://x.photoscape.org/
- Then use the craft punch to cut out the circles.
Directions For The White Hot Cocoa Mix
Determine if you want the cocoa on the top of the jar or the bottom. This is a matter of preference. If you put the marshmallows in first, the the cocoa will spill onto the marshmallows. So if you put in the cocoa first, then put the marshmallows on top for a more clean look.
- For this 4 oz mason jar, add 3 Tablespoons of white cocoa mix.
- Then measure 2 Tablespoons of dehydrated marshmallows.
- Or you can add the marshmallows first and then the cocoa mix.
- Now add on the lid and twist the snow globe lid closed.
- Last, hot glue on the label with the instructions. The snow globe favors are complete!
