Star Wars Party Planning

StarWars Party Example

Star Wars Party Planning is one of the best themes to plan for a party.  There is so much you can do to make your party a galactic success.  There are also many party items that are available to purchase in this theme.  You can also make some cool stuff too and many ideas are on the internet.  So you are only limited to your imagination and budget.  But if you have enough time before your planned event, there are many cost saving options available to throw an epic party.

In this post, I will be sharing ideas on how to plan to have a great Star Wars themed party. In addition, I have included some great menu ideas and fun Star Wars themed food label names to consider for your event.  Also, if you are into Star Wars, you should have some great things around the house that can help you decorate.  For example, toys, space ships, figurines, Death Star, costumes, etc.  So get a pad and paper out and start to brainstorm as you plan this party.

Decoration Star Wars Ideas

  • Balloon arch and balloons – balloons are a great way to decorate and to fill up space in your theme.  There are so many options when decorating with balloons, you can order them from a balloon specialist or order a kit on line.  So add some accent mylar balloons with Star Wars characters for that extra pop.

  • Backdrop – use as the vocal point for the party.  Feel free to add multiple backdrops for additional wow.  For example, use one for photos, another for the treat bags, and another one to display the food.  So think of your space and how you may want to set up.

Star Wars Game Ideas

I love to have tournaments for games. So I recommend dividing guests into 2-4 teams.  That way, no one feels the pressure to do any of the games themselves.  Also, when you have teams, it allows people to get to know each other.  So determine how many games you will have and how to award the points.  I also recommend keeping it simple and designate a score keeper.

Just have a fun way of dividing the teams.  For example, if you are having 2 teams, tear paper into small pieces and write either 1 or 2 on the paper and fold in half.  As you are about to play the games, have the guests pull a number out of a Death Star bowl or droid bowl.  So once the teams are formed, give them 2 minutes to come up with a team name.  Then, let the battle begin!

  • Escape from the Death Star – divide the guests into teams and have minute to win it or competitive games before the Death Star explodes.  Some examples are: relay race, collecting candy into bowls with chop sticks in 2 minutes (decorate the chop sticks like light sabers), ball toss, and limbo.
  • Light sabers for Jedi training – foam, plastic, illuminated, air filled – make sure you have the age appropriate light sabers.  You also don’t want someone to get hurt or poke someone’s eye out.

Light Sabers

Pool noodles make great safe light sabers.  You can decorate the bottoms with tape and place them in a bin for guests.  So a pool noodle light saber is great for guests of all ages.

  • Bean or Ball toss into a droid trash can – kids can toss up to 5 bean bags into the can for up to 50 points in 15 or 20 seconds.  For older guests, do this with a corn hole game.  So just be sure to set the time range for the toss.

  • Star Wars Trivia – come up with Star Wars 2 truths and a lie and the team with the most correct answers gets the overall points. So research Star Wars trivia questions and make your own cards.
  • Scavenger Hunt in the Star Wars theme.
  • Star Wars Moon Rock – Put small little gifts and/or treats inside aluminum foil and bunch each up to look like a moon rock or asteroid.  Hide all of them around the party area and let the kids go look for them. Tell each kid to find only one (so that they’ll leave the others for guests who haven’t found one yet). The kids will love the excitement of hunting for their own moon rock!
  • Star Wars Piñata – you can buy a piñata or make one yourself.  So don’t forget the piñata stick (I suggest getting a stick from the home improvement store and decorating it like a light saber).  I love the piñatas I have seen made like the death star.

Star Wars Food Names

Have fun with planning the menu for your party.  So watch the movies or tv series and get creative.  Your kids will be the gatekeepers in making sure you get everything correct.  Also, consider having food labels or candy bags that you label.  They are a fun way to label the food and guests enjoy reading the themed names.  If you need Star Wars Food Tent Party Labels or place cards, click here:  https://majorgates.com/product/star-wars-birthday-party-food-label-candy-label-editable-download/
