Bacon Spinach Queso Dip
Bacon Spinach Queso Dip is one of those dips that does not last very long. It is creamy, cheesy and has bacon in it. It is perfect for tailgating, weekend get togethers and game night. This dip is very easy to make and has only a few ingredients.
The flavor combination in this dip, delivers an unexpected surprise in your mouth. I make this dip several times a year but it is especially good on a cool day. It is comfort food at its best. Ingredients
- Two – 15 ounce jars of Tostitos Salsa con Queso or other jars of Queso
- 1 – 8oz block of 1/3 less fat of Philadelphia Cream Cheese or other cream cheese
- 1 bag of frozen whole leaf frozen spinach
- 2 Roma tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 package of bacon – cooked crispy and crumbled
- Tortilla Chips (to eat with the dip)
Supplies
- Saucepan
- Frying pan
- Strainer
- Microwave safe bowl
- Large cooking spoon
Directions For Bacon Spinach Queso Dip
- Fry the package of bacon until crispy and drain on paper towels until cool. Then crumble the bacon by chopping, crumbling with your hands or cutting with kitchen shears.
- In a saucepan, boil frozen spinach until softened and then drain in strainer until liquid is strained out. To firmly strain out the water, push the spinach in the strainer with a large spoon.
- Then in a microwave safe bowl add the drained spinach, cream cheese (sliced in chunks), both jars of salsa con queso, and bacon.
- Place in the microwave with a splatter cover and cook on high for 6 minutes. Stir the bacon spinach queso dip and cook on high for another 3-4 minutes or until all the ingredients are heated, melted and mixed well.
- Add in the chopped Roma tomatoes and heat for another 2 minutes and stir.
- The dip is ready! Serve the Bacon Spinach Queso Dip with tortilla chips. This dip is hard to stop eating once you start.
