Chessman Banana Pudding
I love how light and airy this Chessman Banana Pudding is. This pudding is not overly sweet but a perfect blend that is perfect on the palate. Another great thing about this recipe is that it can be made the day before. So if you have quite a few things to make of the day of your event or gathering, making dessert the day before is a huge help.
This recipe is always a smash at parties and family get-togethers. I have never had any left overs. So I think it is because the Chessman cookies are better than the traditional cookies used in banana pudding. It is also important to use a large clear bowl. People like to see the Chessman cookies and anticipate a wonderful dessert. So give this banana pudding recipe a try!

- 2 cups of whole milk
- 2 packages of Pepperidge Farms Chessman Cookies
- 5 ounce box of instant French vanilla pudding
- 8 ounce package of regular cream cheese – softened to room temperature
- 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
- 12 ounce container of cool whip (thawed and not frozen)
Supplies
- Hand Mixer
- Mixing Bowl
- Spatula
- Large Clear Bowl
- Measuring Cup
- Sharp Knife
- Cutting Board
- Can Opener
Directions For Chessman Banana Pudding
- To start, take out the cream cheese and let it soften to room temperature.
- Then open the bags of Chessman cookies and sort the whole unbroken ones, from the broken ones.
- Slice firm ripe bananas into thin slices. If you like thick banana slices, then slice them thicker.
- In a large bowl, combine milk and pudding mix with a hand mixer on medium speed.
- Then, in another bowl, combine softened cream cheese and condensed milk and mix together until smooth.
- Next, fold in the cool whip into the cream cheese mixture with a spatula. Then add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and lightly stir until well blended. So be careful not to over mix or blend or the mixture will be too thin.
- So depending on the size of the bowl, crush enough cookies so that it is about 1 1/2 inches thick.
- Then, make a layer of banana slices over the crushed cookies.
- Next, add some of the pudding mixture about 2 inches thick.
- Now, line the sides of the clear bowl with whole Chessman cookies. Then add another layer of banana slices.
- Then add the rest of the pudding mixture as neatly as you can, so you don’t smear the sides with pudding.
- Top with the remaining whole Chessman cookies.
- The Chessman Banana Pudding is ready to chill. Then cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Don’t forget that this recipe can be made the day before.
