Churros Balls
Churros Balls are the perfect donut popper. They are crunchy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. The best part is that they taste just like churros. This recipe has just a few ingredients and is pretty easy to make. So it is highly likely that you already have all the ingredients in the pantry, and do not have to rush out to the store. It is the perfect treat for kids, family weekends, tastes great with coffee and hot chocolate. I also like to serve this at showers and for brunch. This is a great party appetizer.

Supplies
- Frying pan or deep fryer
- Saucepan
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoons
- Mixing bowls
- Whisk
- Candy thermometer
- Slotted spoon
Ingredients
Makes about 24 Churro Balls
- 1 cup of all purpose flour
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions For Churros Balls
- In a small mixing bowl, add the 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and mix with a fork.
- Next, in a small saucepan, add the water and 2 1/2 Tablespoons of sugar, salt and 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Mix occasionally with a whisk. Then bring the mixture to a boil and remove from heat.
- While you are waiting for the saucepan to boil, pre-heat the frying pan or deep fryer with oil that is about 2 1/2 inches deep, and heated to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Now, stir in the flour into the saucepan and mix until the mixture forms a ball.
- Wait until the dough is cool enough to handle, then scoop and lightly roll the dough into small balls. The balls should be the size of large cotton ball.
- If you make the churros balls too large, then they will be raw in the middle because they brown pretty quickly.
- Fry 4-5 balls at a time and do not overcrowd the pan until lightly brown on all sides. So you only fry a few at a time to allow yourself time to quickly roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. I place the donut balls directly in the cinnamon sugar mixture and spoon over more mixture.
- Then, move the coated churro balls to another plate and repeat the process until all the balls are made. This recipe makes around 24 balls. I usually have to double it for family weekends.
- Serve while they are warm. You can also dip them into melted Nutella, caramel sauce or chocolate sauce.
