Creamy Beef Noodles

Creamy Beef Noodles is a savory dish that is easy to make and is packed with flavor.  The recipe can be made with ground beef or ground turkey.  I always love recipes that you can add vegetables too for color and nutrition.  You can substitute the peas and carrots for broccoli or spinach.  So this meal serves well with a nice side salad, artisan breads, and topped with grated parmesan.

This meal is pretty easy to make and cooks in about 40 minutes from start to finish.  Feel free to half this recipe.  All my recipes are in quantities of a 4 person family with a little for leftovers.  The flavors deepen overnight, so it is perfect to bring for lunch the next day.  I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2.5 lbs of lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion finely chopped
  • 8 ounces of canned or fresh mushrooms pieces and stems
  • 8-12 ounces of peas and carrots (frozen or can)
  • Two – 10.5 oz cans of cream of mushroom soup
  • 3 cans of water (use cream of mushroom cans)
  • 1 teaspoon of Coarse black pepper (add more to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons of granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Brown gravy mix – then add and additional 1 Tablespoon at a time if you want the flavor deeper
  • 3 Tablespoons of dried parsley flakes
  • 2 packages of 16oz extra wide egg noodles (cooked per package directions)

Supplies

  • Large Skillet
  • Large stock pot
  • Strainer
  • Mini Chopper or sharp knife (to chop onions)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Can Opener

Directions for Creamy Beef Noodles

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat.
  • Then add in the chopped onion and mix well while continue to cook on medium heat.

  • Next, add in the can mushrooms and the peas and carrots.  Continue to cook on medium heat.

  • Add in the cream of mushroom and stir, then add in the water.

  • Then add in the brown gravy mix, granulated garlic, coarse black pepper, and garlic salt. Mix well.

  • If gravy seems to thick, add another can of water and then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes and then turn off the stove.

  • Add any additional seasoning to taste.
  • Boil the noodles as per the package directions.  So, bring the water to a boil, add the noodles and cook between 8-9 minutes.  Do not overcook the noodles.
  • Once the noodles are cooked, drain, and add back to the pot or to a storage container.

  • Then add in the beef sauce mix and stir.
