Creamy Sloppy Joe’s
Creamy Sloppy Joe’s are a great comfort sandwich. These sloppy Joe’s are creamy and different because they are made with cream of mushroom soup. The best part is that they are so easy to make. My mom used to make these for us when I was little and I still love them today. My kids love them too.
This recipe will not last long and tastes even better the next day once the flavors set in. So when re-heating, do not overheat or it will be too runny. You want to get all the fantastic bites in the bun.

Ingredients For Creamy Sloppy Joe’s
- 2 pounds of lean ground beef (88-90% lean)
- 2 onions roughly chopped
- 1 can of tomato paste (6oz – 170g)
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream or milk
- 2 cans of Cream of Mushroom (10 1/2 oz – 298g)
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder or granulated garlic
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of coarse black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic salt or seasoning salt
Supplies
- Large frying pan
- Cutting board
- Sharp knife
- Can opener
- Large mixing spoon
- Strainer (optional)
Directions For Creamy Sloppy Joe’s
- In a large pan, brown the lean ground beef on medium high heat. So if you did not get lean ground beef, you will have to drain the excess oil with a strainer.
- As the ground beef is almost cooked all the way through (almost no more pink), then add in the chopped onion. Stir until well mixed.
- Next, reduce heat to medium low. Then add in the cans of cream of mushroom, tomato paste, cream or milk, seasonings, and mix well.
- Then continue to cook the creamy Sloppy Joe mixture on low for 7 minutes. So be sure to stir every few minutes and if you notice any sticking add a tablespoon of water, cream or milk.
- Do a quick taste to check if any additional seasoning is needed. Sloppy Joe mixture should be creamy with the hint of tomato.
- Enjoy these Creamy Sloppy Joe’s on your favorite bun!
