Easy Chicken Nuggets
I like food that is easy and making chicken nuggets for my family meets the easy mark. I like to make chicken nuggets as a way to avoid the fillers and the other things they put in chicken nuggets that I do not really understand why it is in there. In addition, I make these nuggets with organic chicken for additional health benefits. This recipe is pretty simple but has tons of flavor.
Sometimes I experiment with adding other flours to the mix to increase health benefits and fiber. I like adding Tiger Nut or Spelt flour to the mix. Both flours give an extra layer of flavor without nuts (since I am allergic). So try some new flours the next time you make a flour mix.
Also consider adding different spices to the flour mixture you like. Start with a teaspoon of a spice to not overwhelm the other flavors but use some of your favorites that go well with chicken. For example, if you like spice, add some Cayenne or Creole Seasoning.

Ingredients
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 3 teaspoons of Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 cup Plain Bread Crumbs
- 1 cup Vegetable Oil, Peanut Oil or Canola Oil
- 1 large Egg
- 1/2 cup of Milk
- 1/4 cup of Tiger Nut Flour or Spelt Flour (Optional) – I use to add a nutty flavor without using nuts since I am allergic and to add fiber
- 1 – 1 1/2 lbs of Chicken Tenderloins (1 package) or 3 skinless Chicken Breasts
- Seasonings for Chicken:
- cover both sides of the chicken by shaking gently: Garlic Powder, Coarse Black Pepper, Seasoning Salt, Adobo All Purpose Seasoning, Spanish Paprika
- Seasonings for Flour:
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of Coarse Black Pepper
- 2 teaspoons of Salt
- 1 teaspoon of Spanish Paprika
- 1 teaspoon of Garlic Powder or Granulated Garlic
Supplies
- Three Bowls
- Frying Pan
- Kitchen Scissors or Sharp Knife
- Measuring Cups
Directions For Easy Chicken Nuggets
- Rinse chicken breasts and set in a bowl. Then cut chicken breasts into slices and then cubes.
- Season chicken by covering both sides by shaking each seasoning: Garlic Powder, Coarse Black Pepper, Seasoning Salt, Adobo All Purpose Seasoning, Spanish Paprika
- Now cover chicken and marinate in the refrigerator at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Once chicken is chilled, prepare the flour mixture. Mix together the flour, powdered sugar, plain bread crumbs, and optional Tiger Nut or Spelt flour. Then add the seasonings to the flour mixture: Salt, Coarse Black Pepper, Spanish Paprika and Garlic Powder. If making larger quantities of chicken add larger quantities of flour mixture.
- In another bowl, mix together the egg and milk and then set to the side.
- Then dip the chicken pieces into the egg mixture and then the flour mixture.
- Next, heat up the oil in the skillet to medium-high heat. Then place a single layer of chicken nuggets into the hot oil.
- Fry chicken nuggets on medium high heat for 5-6 minutes, about 3 minutes on each side. Do not let them touch, so cook them in a single layer. Cook until light brown.
- Remove and drain on a rack or on paper towels on a plate.
- Repeat the fry process until all the chicken nuggets are cooked. Adjust the heat, higher or lower as needed to ensure the chicken nuggets are cooked through.
Serve with your favorite sides and dipping sauce. Enjoy!
