Easy Cronuts
I like to make easy cronuts because they are my favorite way to eat a donut. Cronuts are flaky and the layers melt in your mouth. Easy cronuts can be made with a pudding filling inside, topped with powdered sugar, or with white or chocolate frosting. The next time I make these, I am going to try them with banana pudding on the inside and some with strawberry frosting. So the possibilities are endless.
This recipe has few ingredients and cooks in a couple of minutes. So you don’t have to wait long to have warm, flaky, delicious, cronuts.

Directions For Easy Cronuts
-
Put enough vegetable oil in a frying pan that is about minimum 2″ deep and heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Unroll dough from the package and smooth together the separated parts. So, I smoothed together two triangles at a time. Then, fold the dough in half in one direction then repeat in other direction.
-
Then cut out 3″ circles of dough using biscuit cutter or a cup or a glass.
-
Next, cut 1″ circles from center of each cronut to make donut holes.
-
Repeat with all of the triangles and then gather up scraps of dough, roll with a little bit of flour and then cut additional cronuts.
-
Next, fry the cronuts approximately 90 seconds on each side until golden brown, and cooked through.
-
Then drain on paper towels.
-
So while the cronuts are cooling, make the glaze. Whisk together: confectionery sugar, vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk. If you would like the glaze to be thicker only use 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk. So to make thinner, add additional milk 1/2 tablespoon at a time, until a glaze consistency is reached.
- Then add some pudding to some of these easy cronuts. Just split a few cooled cronuts in half and fill each with a spread of pudding then replace top. The amount will vary depending on how much you like pudding.
-
Now drizzle the glaze over top with the whisk and then set aside until glaze has set. They are ready to eat!
- I also sprinkled a few easy cronuts with powdered sugar. So I had some pudding filled, drizzled with glaze only and some with sifted powdered sugar.
