Easy Ground Turkey Spaghetti
Who doesn’t love spaghetti? I will share my recipe on how I make easy flavorful ground turkey spaghetti. This spaghetti tastes great the day you make it and re-heats really well. Ground turkey spaghetti is perfect for lunch at work or another dinner during the week. I make my spaghetti with ground turkey instead of beef because ground turkey tends to digest better. This recipe can be made with lean ground beef as well.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lbs of ground turkey
- 32 ounces of pasta/spaghetti sauce (907 g)
- 1 lb of spaghetti pasta (454 g)
- 4 ounce can of organic sliced mushrooms (113 g)
- 1 can – 14.5 ounce of organic diced tomatoes (411 g)
- 6 ounce can of organic tomato paste (170 g)
Seasonings:
- Use one teaspoon of each: granulated garlic or garlic powder, Tony Chacheres Original Creole Seasoning, onion salt, coarse black pepper
- Use one Tablespoon of each: Worcestershire sauce, sweet leaf dried basil leaves, dried Italian Seasoning
After your sauce has simmered for 10 minutes. Taste the sauce and see if it has enough seasoning. You should taste flavor, but no season should over power the others. Be sure not to over season. When making pasta sauce with dried herbs, the flavors enhance the longer the spaghetti sauce sits. Be sure to wash the spoon after you taste or get another before you continue to cook.
Supplies
- 10-12 Quart Cooking Stock Pot (this one comes with the strainer)
- Frying Pan
- Cooking Sauce Pot – I like pots with clear lids and a steam hole at the top so heat can escape without spillage
- Strainer
- Large Spoon
Directions For Easy Ground Turkey Spaghetti
- Brown ground turkey in large sauce pan on medium-high heat. Because you are using ground turkey you will not have to drain the juices, the juice will cook away. If you are using lean ground beef, you will have to drain the excess oil before continuing to make the spaghetti sauce.
- In a large sauce pot, add the pasta sauce and stir. Then add the diced tomatoes and tomato paste and stir. Reduce the heat to medium.
- Add the can mushrooms and stir. Do not allow sauce to boil to a high boil. As you are making ground turkey spaghetti sauce, the sauce should remain at a light boil.
- Next, add all the seasonings and stir well.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- While spaghetti sauce is simmering, make the pasta.
- Boil 4-6 quarts of water in a large stock pot or follow the directions on the package.
- Bring water to a full boil and then add the pasta. Break the pasta into 3 parts so it cooks in smaller strings. This works great for people with kids and reduces mess when eating. Most spaghetti cooks for 10-11 minutes on high boil.
- Drain cooked spaghetti in the strainer and return to pot.
- Add the sauce by large spoonfuls to the cooked spaghetti pot.
- Mix well and serve.
- Store in a large air tight container and this ground turkey spaghetti can be stored for up to 1 week in the refrigerator. The spaghetti can also be stored for up to 2 months in the freezer.
- Serve with garlic bread and/or a delicious side salad. Top with grated Parmesan, fresh chopped parsley for an added touch.
