French Bread Pizza
French Bread Pizza is one of the easiest and delicious pizzas you can make. You can make it with any toppings that you like. I like to make it supreme or loaded pepperoni. But it would also taste great with various types of cheeses. Just pick up a loaf of French bread at the store, brown some Italian sausage and load up the loaf.
Another idea is to make this recipe for road trips. It is perfect for that summer or holiday rental house. Also, French bread pizza is great for cookouts and camping. Don’t forget about game night, and family get togethers. You can make several different topping pizza’s that everyone will love.
I like to make these pizza’s when my kids have friends over, and I don’t want to do that much work in the kitchen. Since the French bread is thicker than crust, it really fills them up. So give it a try, and let me know about some other toppings to try.

Ingredients
- French bread loaf
- 1 pound (16oz) of Italian ground sausage
- .6 ounce ( 1 package) of Pepperoni slices
- 14 ounce (397g) jar of Pizza Sauce
- 1 small bell pepper – chopped
- 2.25 ounce (64g) can of sliced black olives
- 1 cup of grated parmesan (1/2 cup on each loaf)
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup of chopped onion (optional)
Supplies
- Baking Sheet
- Foil
- Frying Pan
- Sharp Knife
- Bread Knife or Kitchen Sheers
Directions For French Bread Pizza
- Pre-heat oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
- Next, brown the Italian sausage until it is fully cooked.
- Slice the French loaf in half with a serrated (bread) knife.
- Then, cover each side of the loaf with pizza sauce.
- Next, cover the loaves with the parmesan cheese and then some shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Next, top with the pepperoni and cooked Italian sausage.
- Now, add on the bell peppers and if you like them, chopped onions.
- Last, add on the sliced olives.
- If you like a cheesy pizza, top with another layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes lightly covered with foil. Then remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle with some coarse black pepper if you like, or eat as it. Allow to cool for at least 6 minutes before slicing. So I like to cut with kitchen shears for even slices, but you can also cut with a bread knife.
- You can also pre-make French Bread Pizza. Wrap it well in plastic wrap, and then foil, and freeze it up to a month. So just be sure to remove the plastic wrap before baking. You may have to add another 5-10 minutes to baking if it is frozen. Enjoy!
