Jamaican Chicken Patties
If you have never tried Jamaican Chicken Patties, then you have been missing out. So, I decided to figure out how to make them at home and I never have any left overs. These Jamaican chicken patties are so flavorful, but not too spicy hot. This also was a pretty easy recipe, since I used pie crusts instead of making my own dough. In addition, pie crusts make the patties flaky and light.
This recipe has a lot of different spices, but that is what makes it so good. You could also make these ahead of time and freeze them and then just bake them when you are ready. These are great for small parties and family gatherings. So if you are looking for something different with tons of great flavor, try these Jamaican chicken patties.

Directions For Jamaican Chicken Patties
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Rinse off chicken breasts and place in a bowl. Then, cut the chicken breasts in half.
- Next, season the chicken breasts by shaking on the following seasonings: curry powder, Jamaican Jerk seasoning, garlic powder or granulated garlic, Adobe seasoning, garlic salt, dried thyme and Worcestershire sauce.
- In a baking pan, line it with foil and place the chicken on the foil. Then lightly cover the chicken with the foil and bake covered for about 30 minutes or until cooked.
- Afterwards, allow the chicken to cool completely or chill in the fridge to cool. Then cut the cooked chicken into small pieces.
- Add 2 tablespoon of oil to a saucepan on medium-low heat. Then add in the chopped onions, minced garlic, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, curry, chili powder, white pepper, all spice and chicken bouillon. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
- Next, add the chopped chicken, 1/4 cup of water and the bread crumbs. Then simmer for about 5 minutes. Now add in the rest of the water and simmer for another 5 minutes. So make sure you are stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Next, add the green onions, chopped parsley, salt and pepper. Then stir for 1 minute and remove from heat and allow it to cool.
- Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Next, on a floured surface, roll out the pie crusts and cut out 4.5″-5″ circles with the biscuit cutter or wide rimmed glass, like a margarita glass. So you should get 5-6 circles out of each pie crust.
- Then scoop 1 1/2 Tablespoons of meat mixture in the center of the circle.
- Next, fold over and secure the patty with your fingers and transfer to the the baking sheet.
- So while on the baking sheet, further secure the patties with a fork and press the edges. Then brush the top with the egg wash and poke the tops with the fork a few times.
- Then bake for 15-20 minutes and check after 10 minutes. So if the patties are browning too much, lightly cover with foil and continue baking checking every 5 minutes.
- Therefore, once the Jamaican chicken patties are done, allow to cool for about 10 minutes because the insides are hot.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
- Also, you can also freeze these before baking and save for another time.
