Pork Chops In Golden Mushroom Sauce

Pork Chops in golden mushroom sauce

Pork chops in golden mushroom sauce is one of my favorite savory comfort meals.  This dish is rich and the flavor is fantastic.  So this is the perfect meal for Sunday dinners or family get togethers.  So, if you love mushrooms and meats in sauces, then this is the recipe for you to try.  Also, this is perfect over your favorite rice or garlic mashed potatoes.

I like that this dish cooks in one pot and is enhanced by the seasonings left in the pan after you pan fry the pork chops.  Then making the sauce extra flavorful with beer, onions and mushrooms, will make you want to lick the plate.  So no matter your cooking experience, this is a fool proof meal that will impress anyone you serve it to.

    • Coarse Black Pepper
    • Garlic Salt
    • Worcestershire Sauce

Directions For Pork Chops In Golden Mushroom Sauce

  • Rinse off the pork chops and place in a large bowl or container.
  • Next, season the pork chops by gently shaking on both sides of the pork chops with:
    • Granulated Garlic or Garlic Powder
    • Coarse Black Pepper
    • Garlic Salt
    • Worcestershire Sauce
    • Tony Chacheres Creole Seasoning
  • Then pre-heat pan on medium-high heat with enough olive oil to cover the bottom (about 4-5 Tablespoons).
  • Next, pan fry the pork chops in olive oil for 4-5 minutes on each side and then set to the side.  So you are just trying to brown the pork chops.

  • In the seasoned pan, add in the roughly chopped onions and cook for about 3-4 minutes.  Then be sure to stir occasionally, so that the onions are not sticking to the pan.

  • Next, reduce heat to medium and add in the flour and stir until well combined.

  • Then add in the golden mushroom sauce and using the same can, fill with water and add to the sauce pan.  Now, stir it well until everything is combined.  Next, add in the 1 cup of beer and stir.  Also, you could also just add a cup of water.

  • Now add in the cans of mushrooms and stir well.  Then continue cooking on medium heat.

  • Then add in the pork chops.  So the easiest way to do this and mix well, is with tongs or with a spatula.

  • Add in the brown sugar and mix.  Then taste your sauce and determine if you need additional seasonings.  So add more if you like, but be careful not to over season.  Then add any other seasons you think will add flavor, just a little at a time.
  • Simmer the pork chops in the golden mushroom sauce on low heat for 30-40 minutes or until meat is tender but not falling off the bone.  Therefore, the cooking time will depend on the thickness of the pork chops.  So if you have thick pork chops, add an additional 15-25 minutes to get the meat tender.
