Directions For The Works Grilled Cheese
- Boil the eggs. To make an easy to shell egg, place eggs in a pot and cover with water. Then heat water to a boil and cook for 10 minutes while boiling. Turn off stove and let eggs sit for another 10 minutes. Pour out hot water and cover eggs with cold tap water. Then peel eggs under running tap water. Eggs should be warm. Dry on paper towels. Place in fridge to cool while you do the rest of the steps.
- Fry the bacon and drain on paper towels.
- Now make the sauce. Mix together the mayonnaise and the hot sauce. If you would like it more spicy, add more dashes of hot sauce. Then place the sauce in the fridge for at least 10 minutes.
- Next, saute the onions on low heat until they are translucent. So it should take around 20 minutes to cook the onions. Then drain the onions on paper towels.
- Spray the cooking pan with cooking spray.
- Butter one side of the bread and then on the other side spread with the mayonnaise sauce. Then place the butter side on the pan.
- Add 2-3 slices of cheese and then add the sliced boiled egg. Next top with onions and then the bacon. Then add salt and pepper if you wish.
- Now add the American cheese on top of the bacon. Then top the grilled cheese sandwich with the other slice of bread. One side buttered and the other side with sauce. Place the sauce side on top of the cheese.
- Cook on medium low heat until lightly brown so this should be about 2 minutes. Then flip over the sandwich and cook for another 2 minutes. The cheese should be melted on both ends or reduce heat and continue to cook without burning.
- Let the grilled cheese sit for 2-3 minutes before serving.
