Harry Potter Owl Emporium
Learn how to create your own Harry Potter Owl Emporium wall. This is a great idea for a Harry Potter party, event or special occasion. This is also a great idea for decorating a teacher wall in the classroom. Every Harry Potter fan will love this owlery.
This project is pretty easy to do and has a dramatic impact. It is inspired from the owlery in the Harry Potter movies. I found the owls on line, so you can choose any owl you like. Also, you can make this project larger or smaller. So it all depends on the size of your space.
I will explain how to create a Harry Potter Owl Emporium wall in this post.

Directions For Harry Potter Owl Emporium
- Figure out the space you will use to create the Harry Potter Owl Emporium.
- Then roll out the brown bulletin board paper and affix to the wall. Either with push pins, removable tape or removable glue dots. I used clear push pins.
- Do an internet search for owls and save them down to your computer. So depending on the size of the space, this will determine the number of owls you need. You want some of the windows blank. For the wall I made, I printed 6 owls.
NOTE: Images found on the internet are for personal use only. So if you plan on selling what you make from the images you found, you must get permission of the image owner and they may charge a fee.
- Next, print the owls on a large sheet of copy paper. I printed on 11 x 17 copy paper and then hand cut out each owl.
- Then create templates for your windows and shingles. The template for the window measured approximately 16 inches tall by 12 inches wide. So basically you are just curving the the top of the construction paper. I made one on poster board since it is thicker. Then I traced it on the construction paper with a silver gel pen and cut off the arch.
- For the shingle template, it is approximately 9 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Make a curved arch, and cut out your template. Then trace onto the brown construction paper and cut them out. So I made about 50, but this depends on your space.
- Next, I cut a long strip of the bulletin board paper, the length of the space and then started to glue the shingles to the strip, overlapping the layers. I used the hot glue gun for this step.
- Then space the black windows at least 12 inches apart and glue to the bulletin board paper. Then glue on the owls with a glue stick. If you do not want any lumps, then use a glue stick. But if you are in a rush, you can use the glue gun for the black windows.
- Now hang up your shingles and attach the Eeylops Owl Emporium sign print out. I print this on the 11 x 17 size paper to make it large.
- The Harry Potter Owl Emporium is done!
