Ingredients
- 16 original sausage links (I used Jimmy Dean’s) – if frozen, take out and let thaw a little so you will be able to cut them. I take my sausage links out first so they can thaw while I get everything else together.
- 1 tube of Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers 8 ct Big Biscuits (you can use other kinds but the flaky layer biscuits separate easier)
- 4 tablespoons of cold butter
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 package or 1 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese
- Round plain toothpicks (do not use colored toothpicks or they will bleed color into the sausage biscuit bites )
- All Purpose flour (used to flour surface)
Kitchen Items
- Baking Sheet
- Rolling Pin
- Pastry Brush
- Kitchen Scissors
- Round Toothpicks
Directions For Sausage Biscuit Bites
- Preheat oven to 375° degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a baking sheet with regular foil.
- Heat butter and oregano in small bowl just until melted in microwave for 30-35 seconds.
- Lightly flour surface and rolling pin.
- Separate each biscuit in half, package is an 8 count and you need to have 16 circles.
- Roll out each biscuit into a 3 inch circle. Work a little fast because the dough works better while cold. The warmer it gets, the more it will be sticky and harder to work with.
- Brush the rolled biscuit with butter mixture.
- Place some shredded cheese on biscuit and place sausage in the middle.
- Roll up and cut in half and place a toothpick in each one.
- Place sausage biscuit bites on cookie sheet.
- Brush the tops of the sausage biscuit bites with any additional butter mixture.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until tops are lightly brown.
