Cabbage and Jalapeno Sausage

Cabbage has many health benefits, so making cabbage and Jalapeno sausage is easy and delicious.  This recipe is keto and low carb diet friendly.  I like this recipe when I want to add some spice and flavor to ordinary cabbage.  It is very easy to make and fast.

Sides can get boring, so it is nice to spice them up, now and then.  Cabbage Jalapeno sausage never lasts long.  It can be a complete meal when you are pressed for time.  This recipe is perfect any time of the year.  When you want a light dinner or you want warm comforting food that won’t pack on the pounds.  Give it a try and let me know how it works out for you.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion – chopped
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 3 teaspoons of minced garlic or 3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 head of cabbage – roughly chopped
  • 1 package of Jalapeño sausage
  • Seasonings
    • 1/4 teaspoon of Coarse Black Pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon of Tony Chacheres Creole Seasoning
    • 1/4 teaspoon of Seasoning Salt

Supplies

  • Large Skillet
  • Mini Chopper
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Spatula, large spoon or tongs

 

Directions For Cabbage And Jalapeno Sausage

  • Chop onion with knife or mini chopper.  If you are using garlic cloves instead of minced garlic, chop it now.

  • Then roughly cut up the cabbage.
  • Slice the sausage into pieces

Jalapeno Sausage

 

  • Melt stick of butter in a large skillet on medium heat and then add the chopped onions and minced garlic.  Sauté for 5 minutes.

  • Next add in the sliced Jalapeno sausage and continue to cook for about 3-5 minutes.

  • Then add in the chopped cabbage and mix.

  • Add in the seasonings and stir.  Feel free to add more seasonings to taste.

  • Continue cooking on medium low heat for 6-8 minutes or until Jalapeno cabbage is cooked but not overcooked.

  • It is ready and serve with your favorite accompanying dish or by itself.  This recipe is great for keto and low carb diets as well.
