Tea Bag Cover Party Favors

Tea Bag Covers

Make these easy Tea Bag Cover Party Favors for the perfect tea party.  This is a memorable party favor for any age person that is old enough to drink tea.  These also would make wonderful favors for a bridal shower, baby shower, or wedding.  I made these to go in the treat bags for my Mad Hatter themed girls night Christmas party.  So I love that you can make these favors with any brand of tea or share with friends and family your favorite teas.  It is an elegant way to give individually wrapped tea bags of different brands.

So the hardest part for me was designing the tea bag cover.  The individual wrapped tea bags are typically larger than the templates I found on-line.  Plus, I wanted to give these type of tea bags, in case my guests would be hanging on to the tea for a while.  Individually wrapped tea bags last longer and have better flavor since they are sealed well.

You could also put other treats in the bag like sugar packs, honey sticks, chocolates, tea biscuits, shortbread cookies, and any other cute thing that will match with your theme.  In this post, I will show you how I made these favors step-by-step.

Supplies

One of my best tips is to create a Wish List on Amazon.  Then when shopping, put the items you want in your Wish List.  Different times of the day or different dates, it will display in the wish list if the price drops and by what percent.  This is my favorite way to shop.  So if you are having a party that is not last minute, purchase when you see items drop in price.

Directions For Tea Bag Cover Party Favors

  • Start by saving the image to your computer and with any photo editing application, insert whatever text you would like.  I inserted the tea name and since my theme was a Mad Hatter tea party, I put the words “We’re All Mad Here”.  You can also put a name(s), sayings, date, occasion, etc.  You could also create your own template.  The ones I made are approximately 7 inches long x 3.2 inches wide.  The flaps are approximately 1/2 inch wide x 2.7 inches long on the sides and 3.2 inches long on the bottom.  I made this is Canva but is was challenging to do.
  • Next, print out the free tea bag cover image on white regular 65 lb card stock and cut out the images with sharp scissors.  So print portrait 8 1/2″ x 11″.  If the image is not printing full size, check your margin settings.  It should print 2 per page on full size.

  • Then fold the back seam, and then the sides.  For easier smoothing, use a craft bone folder tool.  I would get one of these if you are making these for over 20 guests with multiple tea bags.  You can also use this tool for all kinds of paper crafts.
