Pulled Pork Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 pounds of boneless pork butt roast
  • 1 teaspoon of Onion Salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Liquid Smoke
  • 2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons of Garlic Powder or Granulated Garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons of Cumin
  • 4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of Mustard Powder
  • 1 cup of original BBQ sauce – this can be homemade or store bought

Supplies

  • Crock Pot
  • 2 large forks
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Frying Pan (Optional)

Directions For Crock Pot Pulled Pork

  • Rinse off pork roast and place in the crock pot. If you would like a darker color to the pork, combine all the dry seasonings in a small bowl, then rub all over the pork roast.   Next, brown the pork roast in a frying pan with 2 Tablespoons of oil before placing in the crock pot.

  • Cook pork on low for 8 hours but I recommend checking after 7 hours to make sure the pulled pork does not turn mushy.  The pork will make its own juices as it cooks.
  • Once the pork is ready, then pull apart with 2 forks or large meat fork.  Now add the cup of BBQ sauce and mix in.

  • Add additional sauce if desired or let each person add sauce as they want.
