Harry Potter Wand Pencils

Harry Potter Wand Pencils

Harry Potter wand pencils are a fun and easy craft or favor for Harry Potter fans.  I made these for a birthday party to accompany the spell books I made.  Both were included in the favor bags I made.  Kids love these Harry Potter wand pencils because they are different and keep you engaged in Harry Potter.

Harry Potter Wand Pencil Instructions

  • Lightly sand pencils if they have a sheen on them or you are using pencils that are not the regular yellow pencils.
  • Sharpen the pencils.
  • Turn on the glue gun to low temperature and allow it to heat up.
  • Randomly apply the hot glue on the top of the pencil and make a cap.

  • Allow it to cool a little and then apply more hot glue to build up the top of the pencil.

  • Once glue is dry, then paint the bottom of the wand pencil first and allow to dry.  Place in disposable cups or jars until bottom is dry.

  • I usually mix several brown colors to paint the wand pencils and apply 2-3 coats of paint.
  • Once you paint the tops or glued areas, allow the pencils to dry over night.
  • I included these Harry Potter Wand pencils in the favor bag along with a simple spell book that I made.  I received many text messages the next day about how much the kids loved the books and pencils.
