Rustic Pink Baby Shower Banner, Flowers and Signs

Rustic Girl baby shower ideas

Make a welcoming board out of a tri-fold poster board, pink floral fake flowers from your local dollar or craft store.  I cut the gold glitter letters with my Silhouette Cameo from 12 x 12 glitter cardstock.  The letters can also be cut with the letters printed on paper and then traced on the glitter cardstock and hand cut with sharp scissors.

The banner is made with craft paper cardstock, doilies, pink cardstock folded in accordion style strips, white glitter cardstock and pink glitter cardstock printed letters.  A light colored ribbon is used to connect the banner with hot glue.

Decorative Details For Rustic Pink Baby Shower Ideas

Making an attractive and inviting drink station is easy and memorable for quests.  Little customization’s like decorating the flatware and pens add a touch that is unforgettable.  Decorate paper lanterns with fake flowers pulled off from their stems and glue to the lantern.  This will give a dramatic overhead display.  To make the baby shower have the rustic appeal, add brown paper fans and pink lays in the mix.

Make a diaper cake atop a hat box, decorated with ribbon and decorative fake flowers.  Customized personalized cupcake toppers are very easy to make and the attention to detail is always appreciated by quests because everyone loves a great cupcake.  The corsages are made with rustic girl baby shower type ribbons, decorative gem on top of a circle of cardboard and affixed with 1-2 inch self adhesive pin backs.  I use these pin backs for making name tags as well.

Paying Attention To Details

When planning a rustic girl baby shower, guests will love the details that you put into the party.  Make custom name tags from glitter cardstock and  1-2 inch self adhesive pin backs that you find at your local craft store or on-line.  Decorate water bottles in your theme.  Find decorative stamps to add to the charm.

The banner I made in the rustic/vintage theme with images I found on the internet.  Find pink decorative items on-line and look around at every store you visit while you are planning.  You will be surprised to find many things are on clearance in pink and blue.

Other Things To Consider When Planning A Rustic Pink Baby Shower

Make custom food labels, tags for what your guests will be doing.  Have different stations where guests will have to guess how many to win a prize as they move around the room and socialize.  Create simple but elegant centerpieces with large Mason jars, glass beads, wide ribbon, baby’s initials and fresh flowers from the store.  Tie the tops with twine and a baby trinket.

For the Sweets table, try to find sweets in the color of your event.  I found pink pretzels, cookies and candy.  The hard candy lollipops are handmade with a hard candy baby foot mold that I ordered on-line.  The impact is the same with baby theme cutout cookies.

Baby Shower Flowers

I like to use paper flowers for baby showers because you can make them ahead and they have a dramatic effect.  Paper flowers are easy to make and the mother to be can re-use them in the baby’s room if she likes.  I will write another post on how to make paper flowers.

The Menu

Baby Shower Menu

Planning the menu is important for a baby shower.  You want a menu that the food tastes good even at room temperature.  You also want a variety for people with dietary restrictions.  I like to prepare foods that I can make ahead so that I can clean-up and have one less thing to do.  Have one or two main dishes and fill in easy to eat appetizers.

For this event, Lasagna made with ground turkey was the main dish.  Lasagna can be made up to 2 weeks ahead and placed in the freezer until ready to bake.  For guests that wanted something lighter, they had their choice of chicken or egg salad sandwiches.  Both can be made the day before.

Mom to Be Corsage

Try making custom corsages for the mother to be, grandmothers, aunts and godmothers.  I made large ones for the special guests and then mini corsages for all the attendees.  This looked perfect for group photo the ladies took at the end.

Don’t forget the games.  Have trivia, guess how many, interactive and ice breaker games.  Baby Jeopardy is always a hit.  I made the board from a tri-fold board and cut out the variety color circles with a craft punch in the rustic baby shower colors.  I printed the questions and numbers on my printer and affixed the questions with a glue stick and taped on the numbers.  Divide the guests into 2 or 3 teams, let them create a team name and have some fun!

The possibilities are endless.  I will share in future posts how I made the diaper cakes, cupcake toppers, paper flowers, corsages, banners and pens.  See above links for other DIY projects.  Contact me if you have any questions or need some help.
